Selling health reform - an answer

http://herndonalliance.org/

thanks to families usa staff for sharing this web site with me. site looks useful.  I wonder how many know about this, as I certainly didn't.  still, I think much more positive could be said about reform, plus need to negate the myths, like death panels, that many still believe is in the bill.

selling health reform

as a number of you know, I am very concerned that not enough has been done to sell health reform.  One strategy is to conduct focus groups to see what can be done to test various approaches to selling key ideas to the public. Don't know if that has been tried, but figure may be worth pursuing. If any of you have ideas as to how to pursue that, would appreciate your thoughts on that.

also, this sunday afternoon, organizing for america is having a strategy session including a breakout on health reform. it will be in kensignton. If you are able to join us, please let me know and I will send details.

The Hot Spotters

Can we lower medical costs by giving the neediest patients better care.

In Camden, New Jersey, one per cent of patients account for a third of the city’s medical costs.
Dr. Jeffrey Brenner has taken a comprehensive social approach to these issues and is lowering medical costs.  This is where we need to be.

Hope this leads to a meaningful communication strategy. I have been quite frustrated with the lack of communication by the administration on the facts and myths of health reform.  One of the steps I suggest is that we do focus testing on messages.  If anyone has contact info for the person mentioned in this article, I would like to pass on my suggestions.
